Kybella — A Non-Surgical Answer to Submental Fullness.

How It Works

Deoxycholic Acid, Targeted Precisely

Kybella's active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down and absorb dietary fat. Injected directly under the chin in a series of small injections, it destroys fat cells in that specific area — once those cells are gone, they don't come back and can't store fat again.

This isn't an overnight fix. Most patients need 2 to 4 treatment sessions spaced about a month apart, with visible improvement building gradually as the body clears the treated fat cells over several weeks after each session.

What to expect

A consultation to confirm you're a good candidate and map the treatment area
A series of small injections directly under the chin
Treatment itself typically takes 15–20 minutes
Swelling, numbness, or firmness under the chin for one to two weeks is common and expected
Most patients need 2–4 sessions spaced about a month apart
Results build gradually and are considered permanent once the treatment series is complete
How We Approach It

Built Around a Series, Not a Single Visit

Kybella works cumulatively — we plan for a treatment series from the start rather than promising results from one session. We'll assess your submental fullness, confirm Kybella is the right tool (versus a filler or a referral elsewhere), and set expectations for the full course of treatment.

Physician Insight

"Kybella isn't a quick fix — it's a series. Patients who understand that going in, and stick with the full course, tend to be the happiest with their results."

Kybella FAQs

What patients ask most before their first appointment.

Most patients need 2 to 4 sessions spaced about a month apart, depending on the amount of submental fat and your individual response. We'll reassess progress at each visit.
Yes. Deoxycholic acid destroys the treated fat cells, and destroyed fat cells cannot regenerate or store fat again. Significant future weight gain could still affect the area through remaining fat cells elsewhere, but the treated cells themselves are permanently gone.
Most patients experience some swelling, tenderness, and numbness under the chin for one to two weeks after each session. The injections themselves are generally well tolerated, especially with topical numbing beforehand.
