Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier — a different material entirely from the hyaluronic acid used in Juvederm and Restylane. The gel provides immediate volume, and the microspheres act as a scaffold that encourages your body to produce its own collagen over the following weeks and months.
Because of this dual mechanism, Radiesse tends to last longer than most hyaluronic acid fillers in areas where it's commonly used — hands, jawline, and deeper cheek volumizing — often 12 months or more.
Radiesse isn't recommended for very thin-skinned areas like the lips, so we reserve it for areas where its firmer, collagen-stimulating properties are an advantage — jawline, cheeks, and hands. We'll confirm it's the right tool before recommending it.
